Concerto na Noruega - relato de Elin Kvale

            Eu havia citado, no pôst da turnê européia, sobre o fato de a Elin Kvale (fã norueguesa de David) ter me enviado seu relato sobre o concerto. Na verdade, eu queria ter postado o relato, na íntegra, com a tradução, porém, eu estava aguardando que uma amiga traduzisse o texto, pois ele havia ficado confuso com a tradução automática.

            Bem...como eu não quis demorar para postar sobre a turnê, fiz, apenas, um comentário superficial sobre a experiência de Elin. Agora, tenho a oportunidade de trazer toda a tradução. Agradecimentos à amiga, Damaris Hollingsworth, sem a qual não teria a oportunidade de compartilhar esse texto, aqui!

Hi Elaine. Sorry for not responding any sooner... I can you tell you my story... 

I woke up around 04.30 that morning, because I just couldn't wait for the concert, and could not sleep! So I watched the dvd: "The Best of David Phelps", before I went to work that morning(kindergarten)! I had to "warm up", before the concert that night, lol 

I got very early in the line, and all of a sudden a bus came. (I guess I was way too early, but I was so used to standing in the long Michael Jackson lines before, that's why  ) It basically was David and the gang  I welcomed them to Norway.

I stood in line for about an hour, then the Norwegian choir director invited me in, because it was kind of cold outside.  As I was entering, David came walking by, but he was in the "warming-up his voice-mode", so I didn't want to interrupt him. 

I talked to some people, and all of a sudden, I was invited up to dinner, where the Norwegian gospel choir: "Voice of Joy" and David with his band hung out before the concert. I briefly talked to David, when we went to get dessert, at the same time. David wanted to know about the Norwegian dessert, what it was. Me and another girl, tried to explain to him, but I assured him: "It's SAFE!", then he started laughing. 

The concert started around 19.30 pm. Me and my friend were in the middle of the front row, so it was totally perfect! Voice Of Joy started singing some great songs, and then David came along, singing the song: "Virtuoso", and people were standing, totally digging it ! He sang some "rocky" songs, a little blue grass, some jazzy stuff, and a little opera: "Nessun Dorma", and got of course several standing ovations! 

But people were also lifting their hands to the Lord in praise, while he was singing. I remember I told David last year he was in Norway:" It's like you SING HEAVEN DOWN", and he was kind of overwhelmed, thanked me, and told me that it was a GREAT compliment! But it's true...

He sang of course solo songs, but also songs together with the Family Band ("Deliever Me", "Glory Train" and "Have A Little Talk With Jesus") , and also songs together with the Norwegian gospel choir. Sherri, David's big sister also sang: "Blooming On The Other side", which was a very touching song about the loss of their grandmother.

David sang "There Is a River", so beautifully, as always. He also sang "The End of the Beginning", and it totally rocked the house ! He also sang "My All in All, and many other great songs ! The concert had an intermission for about 15 minutes, where people could buy his cds and dvds, and David could drink some water, I reckon !  He said a lot of funny, but also serious stuff inbetween the songs. He said that we were just in our "livingroom" singing together, that was nice  David sang "Let the Glory Come Down", after people were clapping for a bonus song.

The concert was finished about 21.45 pm, so the concert lasted about 2 hours, but it felt like only 10 MINUTES, SERIOUSLY! I enjoyed it THAT much! I could just sit and listen to him sing for HOURS, but poor David, he needs a break too, lol  I pray he'll be back in Norway soon.

No dia do show do David eu acordei por volta das 4h:30min da manhã porque eu não via a hora de o show começar. Eu não consegui dormir! Eu resolvi assistir ao DVD “The Best of David Phelps” antes de sair para o trabalho. Eu queria me aquecer antes do concerto naquela noite. (lol eh abreviacao de laughing out loud que quer dizer rindo alto)

Cheguei na fila bem cedo. (Acho que cheguei muito cedo por estar tão acostumada a ter que esperar por horas em  filas para os shows do Michael Jackson). De repente, chegou um ônibus. Era o David Phelps e a turma dele. Eu os dei boas vindas a Noruega.

Eu estava na fila por, mais ou menos, uma hora quando o diretor do coral Norueguês me convidou para entrar porque estava muito frio lá fora. Quando eu estava entrando,  David passou por mim. Ele estava aquecendo a voz e eu não quis atrapalhar.

Eu conversei com algumas pessoas e, de repente, fui convidada para jantar onde o coral evangélico Norueguês “Voice of Joy” e o David com a turma dele estavam passando tempo antes do show começar. Eu falei com David, rapidamente, quando fomos pegar sobremesa. David queria saber mais sobre a sobremesa norueguesa, queria saber o que era. Eu e outra garota tentamos explicar e eu garanti a ele que comer a sobremesa era “seguro”. Ele comecou a rir.

O concerto começou por volta das 19h:30min. Eu e minha amiga estávamos no meio da primeira fila. Foi perfeito! O coral “ Voice of Joy” começou o show cantando ótimas musicas e David se juntou a eles cantando a música “Virtuoso”. As pessoas estavam em pé, totalmente envolvidas! Ele cantou algumas musicas de rock, um pouco de “blue grass” (um tipo de musica country) , um pouco de jazz e a ópera “Nessum Dorma” e, é claro, as pessoas aplaudiram em pé!

As pessoas louvavam a Deus com as mãos levantadas enquanto ele cantava. Eu lembro de ter falado para David, no ano passado, quando ele estava na Noruega, que quando ele canta ele traz o céu pra baixo. Ele pareceu sobrecarregado de emoção e me disse que era um ótimo elogio. Mas é verdade…

Obviamente ele cantou musicas solo mas também com a Family Band (“Deliver me”, “ Gloty Train”, and “Have a little talk with Jesus”). Ele, também, cantou algumas músicas com o coral norueguês. A irmã mais velha dele, Sherri, também cantou “Blooming on the other side” que é uma música muito comovente sobre a perda da avó deles.

David cantou “There is a river” tão bonito, como sempre. Ele também cantou “The end of the Beginning” e essa música explodiu a casa! Ele cantou “My all in all” e outras ótimas músicas. O show teve um intervalo de 15 minutos  para as pessoas comprarem CDs e DVDs e para David poder beber um pouco de água. Ele falou sobre coisas engraçadas e sérias no intervalo entre as músicas. Achei legal quando ele falou que era como se nós todos estivéssemos na nossa sala de estar louvando a Deus juntos. Quando as pessoas estavam aplaudindo para uma música extra, David cantou “Let the Glory Come Down”.

O show acabou por volta das 9h:45min. Durou 2 horas, mas eu gostei tanto que, para mim, pareceu durar só uns 10 minutos, sério mesmo! Eu poderia sentar e ouvir David cantar por horas, mas pobrezinho, ele precisa descansar também. Estou orando para que ele volte para a Noruega em breve.
